Dr Kathryn Hamlet
Hi, I'm Dr Kathryn Hamlet - The Itchy Pet Vet. I bring 30 years of companion animal veterinary experience and a real passion for connecting with pets and their families to my practice.
I've always been interested in skin and ear problems, and found very early on in my career that they would become a large part of my day to day practice, both in NZ and overseas, most recently in Hamilton, Auckland and Thames.
I have spent the past 4 years studying for my Master of Veterinary Medicine, including a postgraduate paper in small animal dermatology, and other related papers in small animal medicine.
I was very fortunate to be awarded a scholarship in 2022 which allowed me to spend time with a veterinary dermatologist in Auckland, seeing many different skin cases, and honing my knowledge and skills to help pets with allergies and other skin and ear issues. I am also a member of several special interest vet dermatology groups.
By concentrating exclusively on pets with skin, ear and related issues, as The Itchy Pet Vet I can offer a comprehensive dermatology service and dedicate my time and expertise to guide you to the best treatment and long term management plan for your pet.
